OLYMPIAN TRIATHLON CLUB
Membership for 2003
Membership of OTC normally ran from 1st December one year to 30th November
the next year. All current memberships expired on the 30th November 2002.
As the pool was closed in December and because a new constitution was being
drafted it was decided that the membership period should be changed to run
from 1st January to 31st December each year. Membership will have been deemed
to have lapsed if not renewed by 31st January each year. This will be extended
by two weeks this year.
There have been some decisions that members should note carefully.
There shall be three membership categories:
1. Full membership shall be open to:
current, NGB Full or Associate licence holders.
NGB means ‘National Governing Body for Triathlon in Ireland’ (As of
01/10/2002, this is Triathlon Ireland, and thereafter, any renamed or replacement
organisation)
2. Associate membership shall be open to:
current, NGB Full or Associate licence holders. (This is intended for
administrators, coaches, helpers who will not be using OTC Facilities.)
3. Visiting membership shall be open be to:
newcomers for a one-off period of three months, after which Visiting
Membership shall no longer be available to that person.
What does this mean to me?
Members of an affiliated triathlon club need to be members of the governing
body.
If you want to compete in triathlons or just swim you will need to have
full membership of the club as normal.
If you just want to swim and are not competing in triathlons you will
need associate membership of the NGB.
If you compete in triathlons you will also need Full membership of the
NGB. This will include your race licence.
This year the club will subsidise part of the NGB membership fees and
it will be included in the overall club fees below.
The fees include all Monday and Thursday swimming sessions.
Full membership of the club with associate NGB membership: £110
for the year.
If you want to pay 6 monthly it is £70 for the first 6 months
and renewal for the second 6 months is £50. The full year NGB associate
membership is included in the 1st 6 months.
(This is suitable for people who swim but don’t compete in triathlons)
Full Membership of the club with NGB membership and race licence fee:
£120 for the year.
If you want to pay 6 monthly it is £80 for the first 6 months
and renewal for the second 6 months is £50. The full year race licence
is included in the 1st 6 months.
(This is for competing triathletes)
Visiting Membership. Newcomers can swim for £3 a session for a
one-off period of three months, after which Visiting Membership shall no
longer be available to that person.
Juniors will still pay £1 per swim session.
Associate club membership will cost £25 for the year, plus either
the full NGB fee or associate fee. (This is for coaches, administrators
who will not be using OTC facilities.)
Children have to be at least 12 years old to take part in the swim sessions.

Mondays 5.30-6.30pm Thursdays 7.45-8.45pm

To become a member you must fill out at least your name, address, type
of membership, and sign the form.
Please put down your email address as it will make it so much easier
for the secretary to communicate with everyone.
